Electric heating is generally perceived as very expensive one. Let’s then look at facts. Preparation of hot utility water by using electricity is the most commonly approved solution (both in tankless and capacitive water heaters), though it’s also more expensive comparing to gas (electricity-gas cost ratio is the same for HUW and CH production purpose). Electric water boilers are characterized by high efficiency (close to 100% - boiler’s operation base on Joule effect, expressing the relationship between the heat generated and current flowing through a conductor – or simply changing electric energy into heat). For example – the cost of producing 1 kWh of heat energy (using average boiler’s efficiency) estimates (2011 data):
* Energy prices differ depending on a provider – above ones are just estimated – call your energy provider and ask for appropriate pricelist.
Yearly requirement for energy for properly insulated house (modern and new one) should fit within 60-120
kWh/m2/year. Such assumption makes it easy to calculate estimated cost of heating using particular fuels.
Despite those costs, electric water boilers are equipped with several quite important advantages (small size, very
comfort in operation, inexpensive, quiet, clean, highly reliable and do not require exhaust stack or special heating
premises) and are perfect solution:
The latter is more and more popular, thus requires special attention:
Owning additional, independent heat source (all of the above examples) gives psychic comfort. Priceless!!!
In addition electric boiler does not convict user for electricity only, as such devices can operate along with any
other source of heat.
Costs of heating a house using Elterm’s boiler depend on many factors, mostly on heated building itself.
Estimated yearly cost of heating for average family house (without hot utility water)can be extracted from simple equation: A×B×C, where:
A– Average price of 1 kWh energy in 1st and 2nd tariff (weighted average), B – size of heated area in m2, and C – usage factor.
A – Energy price comes of contract with provider. In our region cost of cheaper tariff (10 hours a day and through whole weekend) estimates 0.30 PLN, in more expensive one (14 hours a day excluding weekend) 0.60 PLN – both include transmission. Weighted average gives then 0.42 PLN/kWh.
B – House area in m2 up to 2.5 – 2.7 m height, usually equals living space (floorage).
C – usage factor:
Those estimate costs need to be adjusted:
We therefore encourage you to calculate heating costs. Above estimates concern whole year period, whereas heating season lasts ca. 7 months (for monthly calculation we have to divide result by 7). Elterm's boiler efficiency is 99,5%.
In order to choose the appropriate power please use below table basing on heated area, then go to comparison table to see all of our boiler's features:

ECO dryers (power up to 110W) are used solely for drying purpose; ECOTERM heaters (power up to 800W) have been equipped in heating power regulation, thus besides drying can also heat premises. Except for current product range, there is a possibility to produce special design against order (for significant quantities).
Both ECO towel rails and ECOTERM bathroom heaters are available in two color versions:
Safety groups are devices used to hang membrane vessel, equipped with safety parts designed to secure installation against pressure increase, i.e.: manometer, safety valve and air vent (CH group only). HUW group does not have to include air vent, as it is installed in utility water flow, meaning each water usage vents system automatically.
As for safety groups' advantages, besides aesthetic design, we can definitely point out solid construction made of stout-walled pipes using MAG welding method in helium group casing, as well as availability in sales both 6 and 8 bar (HUW group) versions.
Hydraulic balancer serves for separation of boiler’s circulation from heating’s one. It is used for medium and high power systems (powers from 25 kW – appropriate for average house), containing one or more boilers, especially when there is heating circuits (e.g. for floor heating, radiator heating and hot utility water). In such cases hydraulic balancer eliminates the need to balance pump flows separately - hydraulic balancer separates flows and makes them operate independently from each other (pumps’ work is undisturbed). As a consequence of desilter and air vent being part of balancer’s construction – two additional and quite valuable functions can be also performed. Finally hydraulic balancer protects boiler from low temperature of returning water (low temperature corrosion).
There are three basic modes of balancer’s operation:
Hydraulic balancer works automatically without adjustments need.
Advantages of using hydraulic balancers can be divided into two groups, ones for investor:
and ones for installer::
Hydraulic balancers are manufactured in three basic variants:
Both connecting manifolds and connecting units from Elterm are solutions aimed at time saving (up to dozen or so hours) in central heating system construction. Besides obvious aesthetical aspect (comparing to many connectors combined) all of our products undergo pressure (leak proof) control, what guarantees system's safety. Our offer includes 2- and 3-way manifolds, which can be freely combined to each other and as a consequence it's possible to construct quite complex heating systems.
Connecting units appear in three basic variants:
Differential / pump units (by-pass) cooperate with solid fuel boilers only, in a situation when there is a risk of electricity shortage for a certain period of time. In such case ball in differential/ball valve automatically steers into "no pump" position and whole system operation shifts towards gravitational one. Obviously system has to be constructed reflecting appropriate drops in order to enable gravitational work of system. By-pass has to be installed on supply side only.
Our by-pass is not only aesthetical manufacturing (pipe bent on industrial bender, powder lacquer of high quality) but also semi-products from top suppliers such as: Grundfos, KFA or Techpol.
Boiler's pump module with mix system is a device constructed to protect boiler from too low returning water temperature (low temperature corrosion). When temperature is too low, immediately it’s mixed with hot supply water. Response time is much more quicker comparing to 3- and 4-way valve, and what is more important in contrast to valves, module does not cut off safety vessel from boiler in case there is no separate safety pipe.
Floor heating's pump module with mix system is a device to set (mostly decrease) water temperature in floor heating circuit by mixing it. Installer can freely choose mixing method either on supply or return side.
Advantages of both modules are presented in the below table:
Yes, definitely, as using room controller gives calculable benefits:
For a short period of time boiler can operate on "bridge", i.e. fixed-temperature steering, however it is an emergency mode only (thermostat break down).
ThermLine controllers are produced in two versions, for room (RT) and pump control (PT). Thermline RT consists of four models (RT-R for room, RT-F for floor, RT-RF for room and floor and RT-RW wireless for room), with advantages outlined below:
Thermline PT also consists of four models (PT-P2 – sensor + pump, PT-P3 – two sensors + pump, PT-P4 – two sensors + two pumps, PT-S – for solar systems), which main purpose is to steer pumps' operation and turn them on when needed only (energy-efficient solution).
Consolidated information on Thermline controllers can be found in the table below:
